Tindall Corporation, in Petersburg, VA, creates various custom precast concrete structures. Louis Smith Construction was called upon to perform work at this facility to expand their storage area used for completed precast components. A massive gantry crane capable of carrying over 100,000 lbs. moves the precast components. Louis Smith Construction installed, with a slip form machine, over 8,000 lf of reinforced concrete runways for the cranes to drive on while stacking the precast sections.
